Self-sufficiency measures how much income is needed for a family to adequately meet its basic needs - without public or private assistance. Community Action Association of Pennsylvania is hosting the 2023 Self Sufficiency Awards to celebrate individuals and families across the Commonwealth that have achieved this goal through Community Action programming. For 58 years, Community Action Agencies (CAAs) have moved people with low income to self-sufficiency through flexible programming tailored to their communities. In Pennsylvania, 43 CAAs provide extensive services for families in all 67 counties. CAAs are working to empower Pennsylvanians living at or below the federal poverty line and give them the resources, skills, and opportunities needed to succeed. Celebrate individuals and families that have reached or made progress to reach self sufficiency in 2022.
