Join the Waunakee IDEA as they host an evening dedicated to Lake Ivanhoe, WI. Last fall, Lake Ivanhoe was awared an historicall marker by the state of Wisconsin commemorating it's founding in 1926 as Wisconsin's 1 Black resort town. The nationwide retailer REI recently collaborated with Outdoor Afro for a national campaign dedicated Lake Ivanhoe and other Black historical outdoor spaces. Meet current and former members of the community along with descendants of the founding families including local resident and member of Waunakee IDEA, Cassandra Phillips-Punsel. Hear what it was like growing up in that area and nearby Lake Geneva and what continues to make Lake Ivanhoe a unique place: the people.
