Description
You are eagerly invited to a lush evening of dance, celebrating any and ALL community birthdays in January, February, and March! If you love fusion dance but hate throwing your own party, we invite you to join us Saturday, Febuary 18th at Tango Berretin in Southwest Portland! This decadent party will feature dreamy local djs, complimentary snacks and bubbly drinks, some surprise (and optional) dance activities, and plenty of space for cuddles and confessions. Come as you are, or dressed as a pretty little orchid; we will have some costumes and jewelry available for all to wear and swap for the evening. Suggested donation of $15 is kindly requested, but ability to pay will NOT keep anyone from partying with us. Either way, please get yourself a ticket, so we know how many of you to expect. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all! Orchids in the Moonlight: COVID-19 PolicyYour birthday babes are committed to creating a welcoming and safe dancing environment. We will be taking the following precautions on the night of the big party: Anyone feeling sick is asked to please stay home. All party people will be required to take a rapid test at the door. We would greatly appreciate if you were able to bring a test for yourself as well as extra tests to help support your friends with less access. Regardless, we will ensure that rapid tests will be provided at the door free of charge. Free rapid tests can once again be ordered at covidtests.gov. Yay congress! Finally, masking is encouraged, optional, and welcome. We expect that our community members will respect other people's choice to mask. Attendees who are masking can ask others to put on a mask to dance with them at their own discretion, or turn down a dance with someone who is unmasked. We will have a zero tolerance policy for pressuring, excluding, or interrogating anyone for masking. As active members of the dance community, we have had many opportunities to see different COVID-19 mitigation proceedures up close. Our testing process is informed by, and borrowed from, many of our favorite events in the area. It also reflects our best attempt to balance both the safety of our event and to welcome as many members of our community as possible to party with us. Below you'll find a bit more detail about what to expect on the night of the dance, and some of the thinking behind our testing process: Upon entry, we're asking folks to self-administer a test and provide us both with the "testing cassette" and a government issued ID. After the test waiting period, we ask that you return to collect your ID and confirm your results. During the waiting period, we are encouraging but not requiring folks to wear masks; this is based on the CDCs definition of close contact available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/your-health/qi-guidance-quarantine.pdf Once a negative result has been confirmed, you may mask to your comfort. As you may have noticed, we are neither requiring masks nor proof of vaccination. We want to throw an event where as many dancers as possible feel comfortable attending. Based on the information available to us at the time of writing this, we believe testing at the door is the most effective, least restrictive way to do that. https://www.ssph-journal.org/articles/10.3389/ijph.2022.1604659/full?&utm_source=Email_to_authors_&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=T1_11.5e1_author&utm_campaign=Email_publication&field=&journalName=International_Journal_of_Public_Health&id=1604659
