A game about the powerful role of relationships on early brain development.The Brain Architecture Workshop, developed by Harvard's Center on the Developing Child is a tabletop game experience that builds an understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development – what promotes it, what derails it, and with what consequences for society. Learning through play is effective for adults too! The Brain Architecture Game takes participants through building a brain using pipe cleaners and straws to simulate brain development over the first 7 years of a child's life. Participants make concrete connections between the theory of brain development and what happens to the brain right in front of them. This experience provides a memorable foundation for the learning to follow. NOTE: We are also hosting a morning workshop taking place in the same room! Be sure to register if interested. Participants attending both workshops will have 1.5 hours in between for lunch on their own.
