Description

Start the spring time off strong and come help us clean up trash along the D&R Canal and Millstone Aqueduct! This cleanup is being hosted and coordinated by the Americorps NJDEP Watershed Ambassadors Program (https://www.nj.gov/dep/wms/bears/americorps.htm) and Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park. We will be meeting at the Millstone Aqueduct lot in Princeton, NJ on Saturday March 4 at 10am-12pm (rain date is March 5). The parking lot is situated along the D&R Canal and Carnegie Lake. Address and coordinates: 732 Mapleton Rd, 08540 Princeton, NJ 40.342727469, -74.6295308 If the land is dirty, then the water is dirty too-- trash and other pollutants are picked up by stormwater runoff and end up in our water bodies we use for recreation and drinking water. Our goal is to improve water quality of the canal and Carnegie Lake by picking up garbage. Gloves and trash bags will be supplied. Dress for the weather and bring water & snacks. Families are welcome, and all children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Please register using this eventbrite page. Any questions can be emailed to Sarah Falk, Watershed Ambassador for the Millstone Watershed, at [email protected].
