Description

Join us for this class as Keely teaches us about the local significance of sugar cane and how you may reintroduce this beneficial plant to your urban garden. Keely, a New Orleans native, came by environmental stewardship through garden therapy. Keely's childhood community garden was confirmed heavily contaminated with lead and other toxic elements. This led Keely, lead gardener, to research cost effective ways to remediate and generate soil using natural farming techniques. The increasing impact of geography and climate in New Orleans spurred Keely to work, educate, and help make small interventions to create big change.
