Description
Join us at 6pm on February 28, 2023 at The Glass House to celebrate the launch of the all new BIPOC Foodways Alliance! We're a new nonprofit aimed at dismantling white supremacy through cross-cultural sharing, and we need your help to fund our mission. Why BIPOC? We are stronger together; when all BIPOC people and their allies join forces, white supremacy loses. About the BIPOC Foodways Alliance: Everyone has a food story, but not everyone has a restaurant. The BIPOC Foodways Alliance aims to preserve, protect, and uplift food stories from the vast diaspora of BIPOC people in the U.S. and around the world through our Table program. Our goal is to increase cross-cultural understanding—so that BIPOC people, and white people alike—stop siloing, and instead support one another’s customs and efforts. About the BIPOC Foodways Alliance Table: In 2023 we're launching a shared table space to tell the unheard and underrepresented food stories of our co-hosts - women of color, elders, immigrant communities, and other often overlooked individuals who hold deep culinary knowledge and wisdom. We will co-host monthly Table events, inviting 12 individuals to learn about one another via the powerful tool of food. We need your help to cover the costs of the hosting monthly BIPOC Foodways Alliance Table events and to capture the stories to be shared with the world through photos, written word, film, and more. Event Details: FEBRUARY 28, 2023: General Admission tickets start at $75/each, with more affordable options to ensure no one is turned away.
