As part of the Living Matthew 25 Initiative of First Presbyterian Church South Bend, an African American History Bus Tour of South Bend will take place on Sunday March 12th from 1:45-4pm. This tour is in collaboration with DTSB and IUSB.
The tour will be given by Dr. Monica Tetzlaff, Professor of History at IUSB and focus of African American Studies. The tour will make multiple stops around South Bend highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the African American community, with conversation around landmarks, sacred spaces, and also important buildings that are no longer standing.
Space on the bus is limited to 25 seats, at $5 per person. All proceeds will be donated to the Civil Rights Heritage Center. All ages are welcome! There will not be any food or beverage available for purchase, please bring your own snacks and water if you would like.
The bus will leave promptly at 2pm for the Civil Rights Heritage parkin lot, please arrive at 1:45 and show your eventbrite ticket upon boarding.
