The Student Mathematics League (SML) Competition is a national math contest designated for students who have not yet earned a two nor four-year degree. It is sponsored at the national level by the American Mathematics Association for Two Year Colleges (AMATYC).
The contest consists of two exams per academic year. The exams are given in the fall and spring semesters respectively. A $3000 scholarship will be awarded to the national champion. Merit certificates will be awarded to the top five scorers of Valencia College.
Deadline to register is 02/21/23 or until all seats are filled.

Who can enter the contest?
Any Valencia College student who has not earned a two-year degree or four-year degree is eligible to participate. Part-time students are eligible.
Are there ID or other requirements to enter the event?
Please bring your Valencia Student ID with you.
What is involved for those that enter?
The math contest consists of two exams. The first contest occurs in the Fall semester of each academic year. The second contest occurs in the Spring semester of each academic year. The student with the highest combined score wins the contest.
How many questions are on each exam?
Each exam has 20 multiple-choice questions. The questions cover topics from College Algebra, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus.
What can I bring to the event?
A TI-83/84+ calculator or any calculator that does not have a QWERTY (i.e. typewriter) keyboard.
