Andrew Leitch Park is a beautiful 220-acre county park that serves as a home for many native species and hosts multiple family-friendly amenities, such as hiking and picnicking. To protect this green community space, we need your help this March!
Join your neighbors in removing litter and household waste from the NW corner of Andrew Leitch Park at our community cleanup! This event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 11th, 2023, and all cleaning supplies, plus water and snacks, will be provided. Please note from our attached flier that parking is available at 5301 Dale Blvd, Dale City, VA 22193 (Waterworks Waterpark parking lot); volunteers may then follow the nearest trailhead and walk through the park to the trailhead near the opening of Portland Drive, which is where we will compile trash bags. To then get to the main location of this cleanup (circled on our flier), a trail guide will lead volunteers along the park trail until diverging slightly off the path toward the NW corner. Volunteers are also welcome and encouraged to clean up litter along this path.
This event is in partnership with Mid-Atlantic Off Road Enthusiasts, Greater Prince William Trails Coalition, Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition, Keep Prince William Beautiful, and Prince William Department of Parks, Trails, Recreation and Tourism. All are welcome and we look forward to your registration to help protect Andrew Leitch Park!
