The Bay Area Scholarship Alliance (BASA) hosts the Miss San Francisco and Miss Oakland local crowning competition. These two local titles serve as the pathway for San Francisco and East Bay residents to compete in the Miss California competition (a preliminary to Miss America.) Our organization awards hundreds of dollars in educational scholarships each year to its qualified candidates, and supports several social impact initiatives around the SF-Bay Area. The mission of this non-profit, all-volunteer organization is to empower the young women of the Bay Area to achieve their personal, scholastic, and professional goals. Our representatives act as goodwill ambassadors and serve their respective communities throughout their year of service. Our two titleholders enjoy a fun-filled, busy and exciting year of service. While the communities benefit from their service, the titleholders gain incredible personal growth and lifetime connections, which are both priceless. The titleholders will work with the BASA team to develop goals and execute on tactics to advance her chosen Social Impact Initiative, setting metrics and developing partnerships which will show positive results at the end of her year.
