Description

We have a panel of three people who have tremendous expertise. They've worked for decades eliminating invasive plants from the forest preserves, and from private property. If you don't know what we mean by the term 'invasive plants,' you'll learn what they are and why it's important to address them where you live. If you're already aware, you'll find information to expand your understanding of the issues and of specific plants. The panelists will be showing pictures of invasive trees, shrubs, vines and herbaceous plants to help you learn to identify them and understand their effects. They will also discuss various techniques for eradicating these plants, and answer questions you bring to the event. This is a hybrid meeting, in person in the Elgin Room at the main branch of the Gail Borden Library in Elgin, and remote on Zoom. You only need a ticket if you'll be watching from home.
