The Hotel Metropolitan is proud to present Dr. Alicestyne to speak on the Quilts of the Underground Railroad: "petticoat Plotters" and "Freedom Fairs." on Friday, April 28th at 1 pm at the W.C. Young Center.
Dr. Turley has years of research and experience on the Underground Railroad. In Dr. Turley's new book "The Gospel of Freedom," she writes about the Underground Railroad. Come her talk about this interesting and mysterious topic.
Doors open Friday at 11 am at the W.C. Young Center 505 So 8 St.
Admission is $25.
The Quilter's Fish Fry will begin at 10:30 am. Hand-breaded Fish Plate $12 includes our famous fried fish, cole slaw, home-cooked white beans, cornbread, and desserts.
This year's featured artist is Cheryl Sullivan of Paducah. Ms. Sullivan will exhibit her beautiful quilts to the public. Come see her lovely quilts and enjoy their beautiful story.
