​Insects and spiders make up 85% of all animal species on the planet. Insects are inextricably linked to the network of our food webs. Nearly 90% of our flowering plants depend on insects for reproduction. Over 95% of birds depend on insects for food. We will talk insect biology and discuss the many ecosystem services they provide. This important talk will be led by Blake Dinius, who was our guest last May and gave a very informative tick talk. If you missed last May's meeting, don't miss this one! This event is free for Hamilton Wenham Garden Club members. It is open to the public at no cost thanks to a grant from the Hamilton-Wenham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Please note that prior to the start of the program, the membership will conduct a brief business meeting. The lecture will start at approximately 7:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!
