Sign up to join AllenForce with other veterans in a unique experience, creating and building your own personal service ribbon pen. A Call to Shoulders provides the expert instruction, wood working tools, materials and patterns options. This event is limited to veterans only, due to the few spaces available. We will call you prior the event to confirm details of accessibility, physical ability for participation and parking details. Lunch provided by Mission BBQ! This event, and others in the VecRec program at AllenForce provide veterans, their families and sponsored guests with outings to provide camaraderie, adventure and social interaction. The therapeutic recreational modalities VecRec provides helps veterans and families cope with stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, as well as other conditions veterans may experience. Recreational therapy helps to improve physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning with the overall goal to improve veterans quality of life. A Call to Shoulders mission statement: "You answered a Call to Arms and shouldered the responsibility of a nation. Now that you are home, we have an obligation to help shoulder your burdens. We are honored to provide this opportunity for you to take part in this wood turning workshop creating your own custom service pen. *We need to know which service ribbon you will request, in your registration. Current ribbons available: Vietnam, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, WWII, Navy Combat, Desert Storm, Korea, Joint Service, Global War on Terror and Valorous Unit.
