Get ready for some exploring! This hike will be approximately 5+ miles in length. Participants should be able to hike over rugged, rocky trails with elevation gain and loss.
Who is Invited: Open to ages 14 and above; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; no pets please.
Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations.
Registration opens on Saturday at 8 AM, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation.
When & Where to Meet: Meet at the rainwater harvesting tower by the Visitor Center.
The Natural Area can be very busy! The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 8:15AM; the hike starts promptly at 8:30AM.
What to Wear & Bring: Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack.
