Fairhope Freedom Ride 2023 The Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship (FUF) and Fairhope United (formerly Hope Community and Fairhope Unite) will host the first annual Fairhope Freedom Ride on May 13, 2023. The mission of the Fairhope Freedom Ride (the Ride) is to advance justice, equity, and compassion in human relations through annual visits to significant civil rights sites in the Southeast Region. Inspired by the Freedom Rides of 1961, this annual day-long bus tour will facilitate education about our collective past and meaningful dialogue about the continuing struggle for social justice. The Ride will seek out and prioritize opportunities to respectfully engage communities of color, such as the promotion of local black artists in promotional materials.
