The Maryland Wineries Association presents A Maryland Wine Experience, showcasing the best of Maryland wine in a three-part consumer event. Winemakers, winery owners and expert winery staff will be on hand to talk about their wines and offer a sneak peek into why they're so passionate about what they do. Focused on exploration and education, you are invited to attend all three parts of A Maryland Wine Experience. This unique spring wine experience will be hosted at the Graduate Annapolis. Our full-event package includes admission to two Master Class Sessions, our effervescent Sparkling Reception and the Grand Tasting, featuring dozens of Maryland-grown wines and wines from abroad. If you’d prefer to attend individual sessions of the event, don’t hesitate to build your own experience and purchase individual session passes for the Master Class Sessions, the Sparkling Reception and the Grand Tasting. Wine education is a large part of A Maryland Wine Experience and we've curated a selection of excellent Master Classes. Each of these classes gives you an opportunity to experience wine with a newfound sense of appreciation. | SESSION 1 MASTER CLASSES |Blending Master Class | SATURDAY 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Attendees in this hands-on seminar will learn about why wine blends are so important to a winemaker's portfolio. You'll learn how to create your own Bordeaux blend wine and will take away your own small bottle of a customized wine. Oysters & Wine Master Class | 11:00 am - 12:30 pm This IS the Chesapeake Bay and oysters are an everyday part of Maryland’s ecosystem and cuisine. Learn about oysters, how they contribute to the Bay, the flavors that different oysters present and which wines pair well with these awesome, local bivalves. Details about this session, including our guest speakers and presenters, will be updated. | SESSION 2 MASTER CLASSES |Library Wines of Maryland Master Class | SATURDAY 1:00 - 2:30 pm Commercial winemaking has flourished in Maryland for more than 50 years. Join our State Viticulturist, Maryland Wine Champion, and Maryland Wine Historian for an educational walk through a tasting of wines dating back several decades. Clever Collabs Master Class | SATURDAY 1:00 - 2:30 pm Expanding the world of wine to include spirits and beer. Beer made with wine, spirits aged in wine barrels, wines aged in spirits barrels; it’s all happening in Maryland! Join a tri-industry group for a talk and tasting of these collaborative efforts. PART II - SPARKLE The Sparkling Reception | SATURDAY 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm "Everybody loves things that sparkle." - Philip TreacyStarring Maryland's best sparkling wines, the Sparkling Reception offers enthusiasts an opportunity to explore delicious, bubbly wine from home and abroad. Complete with light hors d'oeuvres, the Sparkling Reception kicks off an elegant evening of wine tasting, live music, and fun. If you're joining us for the Grand Tasting, be sure to include the Sparkling Reception as part of your Maryland Wine Experience. PART III - TASTEThe Grand Tasting | SATURDAY 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm “I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.” - Oscar WildeThe Grand Tasting at A Maryland Wine Experience features a curated selection of wines that are renowned for their exceptional flavor and quality. We'll be showcasing varietals that shine in our state, with comparative tastings of the same varietals from other winemaking regions. Wines included in this tasting session include Maryland-made wine and wine styles from abroad.
