Join us for a mala-making workshop where we will guide you step-by-step through the process of creating your own 108-bead, hand-knotted mala necklace that you can use in meditation or prayer, or just wear as a piece of beautiful and meaningful jewelry. Making a mala can be a very meditative and positive experience in and of itself. In this workshop, Madi Hand will share instructions and support as you create your very own mala. You'll be able to choose from over 25 different types of beads to design your mala and you'll finish your necklace with a handmade tassel. About Wishflower Studios: Madi Hand is preparing to start 9th grade at Denver School of the Arts. She and her mom, Amy, began making malas as gifts a couple years ago and they enjoyed it so much that they wanted to keep making malas after the holidays were over. Madi had the idea to start a business and that is how Wishflower Studios began. Now their malas are available at June Ruby in Stanley Marketplace, The Bar Method in Northfield Stapleton, and in Collective Boutique in Pueblo, CO. They just returned from a volunteer trip to Romania and used all of the money they've raised from making malas so far to support that trip. They loved volunteering in Romania where they worked with severely disabled children at a children's hospital and teaching conversational English at a high school. They can't wait to go on another volunteer trip and are doing research to determine where they'll go next.
