In this course, you'll learn about the best materials for exterior mosaic art and help create mosaic "strips" to fill in the many cracks in downtown Bethel's sidewalks. We'll use colorful tiles, in the indirect method, to make mosaics in the shape of particular cracks; they'll be installed in the summer. Play a part in making our streets a bit more functional and a lot more beautiful! Professor(s) or Facilitator(s): Dayna Sabatino, Teaching Artist at Day Breaks Glass Studio www.daybreaksglassvt.com In 2022, Dayna opened Day Breaks Glass Studio in her town of Bethel, Vermont after 20 years of professional work in stained glass and Mosaic arts. The studio runs a large curriculum of courses in stained glass and mosaic art and hosts guest artists sharing their handcrafting skills. Day Breaks Glass is a member of The Vermont Crafts Council and has received grants from The Vermont Arts Council. Session Type: Class Restrictions or Requirements:  Students expecting to craft will need hand strength. Open to participants ages 8+. Participants ages 8-16 must have a guardian.Materials or Prep:  All Materials providedAccessibility: Day Breaks Glass Studio is not ADA accessible. The entrance requires two steps up. The bathroom cannot accommodate wheelchairs or mobility devices. Volunteers can assist people who need a little help entering the building.
