--Meet our special guest, Jerrod Heard--
Jerrod Heard is an American football wide receiver and quarterback. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns from 2014 to 2018. In total, he played in 49 games for Texas, making 14 starts (10 at quarterback during the 2015 season) and finished his career with 1,243 yards passing, 540 yards receiving and 600 yards rushing.
In his first start for Texas against Rice, Heard threw for 120 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 96 yards. In only his second start at QB, Heard broke Vince Young's single game record for offense for the Texas Longhorns, accounting for 527 yards of total offense. In 2018, he contributed to that unforgettable 48-45 win over No. 7 Oklahoma.
Heard became the seventh Texas player since 1980 to record a passing, rushing and receiving TD in his career. He is a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (fall 2014) and a two-time all-state performer who was one of the top dual threat signal-callers in the nation.
