In honor of Black History Month, join Casa Guipzot for a Wine & Learn on 28 February as we discuss Afro-Mexicano existence and history in Northern Mexico from Coahuila to Chihuahua to current Mexican-American and African-American community relations. You'll hear from Dr. Chantae Recasner, who will frame and educate us on why African slaves fled to Mexico in search of freedom. You'll hear from a direct descendent of Black Seminoles, Desiree Mariscal Crawford, who's familia calls Naciemento, Coahuila, Mexico home. We will also have the pleasure of hearing from Ms. Antoinette Franklin, a descendant of Chihuahua, Mexico, as she reads from her family history.
This Wine & Learn will be moderated by the owner of Casa Guipzot, LLC and founder of The Boardroom Project, Salena S. Guipzot.
* Wine by the glass from Coahuila, Mexico will be available for purchase. Must be 21 years and older.
