Join Wendy Born, skillful fern botanist, and Liz Parsons , CNPS Milo Baker Vice President on an easy stroll in Pomo Canyon.
Pomo Canyon offers easy access to the majority of our native fern species with stream banks covered with Adiantum aleuticum, Five Finger Ferns, and the seldom seen Dryopteris expansa, Spreading Wood Fern. Basic fern identification skills will be taught, what characteristics distinguish one fern from another, etc. How DO you identify a plant without flowers... or without spores even?
