It all seems so innocent until…
Set to the swelling strains of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, David Lean’s Noël Coward adaptation is nothing less than one of the most achingly romantic films ever made. It’s also a piercing dissection of the psychology of an extramarital affair that lays bare the human heat lurking beneath stiff-upper-lip British reserve.
Wendy Whittick, film historian and Co-President of Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club, is dedicated to preserving the legacy of movies and actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood. To achieve this, Ms. Whittick has given several speaker series presentations in the community focusing on stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, David Lean and Audrey Hepburn. She also authors a blog at WhoisMontgomeryClift.com which provides biographical information on the films and lives of Montgomery Clift and numerous other classic film actors. As Co-President of Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club, she provides free screenings of classic films in various Pittsburgh communities.
