Living Traditions Presentations proudly presents Téada from Ireland with special guest, Caitriona Sherlock. The show will begin at 7:00 PM with the doors opening at 6:30 PMTéadaA traditional band with a truly worldwide reach, Téada has appeared as a frequent headliner at major music festivals throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Russia, the Middle East and Australia. Highlights include a 30,000-capacity stadium concert in Brittany, along with performances at Penang World Music Festival in Malaysia, Edmonton Folk Festival in Canada, Harare International Festival of the Arts in Zimbabwe, and Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo. In 2014, the band performed to 40,000 people during an extensive 7-week tour of Japan / Taiwan, and continues to have a strong touring presence in the United States, where Téada has toured actively since 2001. Caitriona SherlockCaitríona Sherlock, a talented young singer from Monaghan, came to attention when winning All-Ireland titles for singing in 2013 & 2017. Since then, she has gone on to perform internationally with Choral Scholars of University College Dublin, appearing frequently alongside Ireland’s leading instrumentalists and orchestras. Caitríona brings to Teada a magical voice and stage presence, that will surely transport you to the Emerald Isle. Teada will be appearing as a four piece group for their Southwest tour with the following performers: Oisín Mac Diarmada - fiddle A graduate in Music Education from Trinity College Dublin/RIAM, Oisín has been described by The Irish Echo's Earle Hitchner as "one of the most gifted and creative traditional fiddlers playing today." Founder of the internationally-renowned group Téada in 2001, Oisín is also a regular solo performer, having appeared as guest soloist with the Southern Georgia Symphony Orchestra (USA) and Würtembergische Philharmonie Orchestra (Germany) along with an extensive recording history. Caitríona Sherlock - vocals Caitríona Sherlock, a talented young singer from Monaghan, came to attention when winning All-Ireland titles for singing in 2013 & 2017. Since then, she has gone on to perform internationally with Irish Christmas in America and Choral Scholars of University College Dublin, appearing frequently alongside Ireland’s leading instrumentalists and orchestras. Caitríona brings a magical voice and stage presence to each of her performances, invoking the warmth and charm so associated with the Irish singing tradition. Seán Gavin – flute / uilleann pipes Seán Gavin’s ornate and driving style on the flute and uilleann pipes reflects his lifelong immersion in traditional Irish music. He is a highly accomplished performer having toured extensively on three continents. Currently residing near Detroit MI, he remains firmly dedicated to playing and teaching traditional Irish music, reflected by his recent founding of the non-profit Irish Music Institute. Patrick Doocey - guitar Patrick is quickly becoming one of the most in demand accompanists on the Irish music scene today. Predominately self-taught on guitar, Patrick’s exciting style on both nylon and steel string guitar combines influences from many genres including jazz, hip hop, r n b and rock. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts and having lived in Foxford, County Mayo, Patrick now spends his time between Mayo and New York City. His talents can be heard on Lunasa’s album “Cas” as well on recent albums with Kevin Crawford, Dylan Foley and Colin Farrell.
