Important Update: Due to the fact that a devastating earthquake has struck Turkey and Syria, causing widespread destruction and thousands of lives, we, as Turkish American Society of Minnesota (TASMN), are deeply saddened by this tragedy. We extend our sincerest condolences to all those who have been affected by the earthquake. Our hearts and prayers are with all those during this difficult time. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the "Love is Verb" event to February 26 at 2:30 pm. While we know this is disappointing, we hope you understand this is the right step to take at this unprecedented time. This is a time for us to come together as a community. In light of this, TASMN invites you to join in a bake sale on February 19 at 2:30 pm to show support to those who have been affected by the earthquake. We hope that you will be able to join us for this meaningful and important event. Thank you for your help. TASMN  * * * * * *  Love is a Verb Lunch and Documentary Screening You're cordially invited to join us for lunch and "Love is a Verb" documentary screening on February 26th at 2:30 pm. This is a chance to hear more about the importance of spreading love and dialogue among people with differing beliefs and traditions. Love Is a Verb documentary is an examination of a social movement of Sufi-inspired Muslims that began in Turkey in the 1960s and now reaches across the globe. The group is called Hizmet, the Turkish word for service, or The Gulen Movement after its inspiration, leader, and beloved teacher Fethullah Gulen, a man that Time Magazine named one of the most influential leaders in the world in 2013. The event is free, but donations to our "Emergency Relief for Earthquake Victims in Turkey" would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you there. TASMN
