Description

In honor of Black History Month 2023, the Indiana County Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is sponsoring a historic community engagement event whose overall aim includes a relaxing and enriching function that honors volunteers of Indiana NAACP #2309 and those whose work contributes to Black development and progress while reflecting upon its mission and vision. Key to continuing the functions, activities and work for racial, social, and civil justice is togetherness. In accord with its mission/vision, an Indiana NAACP #2309 goal is to support and help obtain a future of inclusiveness, and a next generation that is “not burdened by the past,” but one that continues to move forward toward a just and beloved community that benefits all. With over 2 million members across the United States and an increasing technological, global, and demographically changing society, achieving the mission and vision of the NAACP is so critical. Anyone who has been a volunteer to the Indiana NAACP #2309 and/or volunteer work reflects upon its mission and vision, please contact us by February 17, 2023, so that you can be included among the list of honorees. All are welcome! Admission fee is $25. Advanced registration requested. A cash bar will be available. For further information, contact Elaine Jacobs Smith, treasurer, at [email protected] or phone 724-464-8390. You can also reach us by email at [email protected] and phone 724-464-9152.
