Mission Statement The Afro Latino Alliance (ALA) and The Afro- Latino Institute (ALI) was created to increase the DC community’s awareness of the numerous human and civil rights challenges faced by Afro Latinos in the metropolitan area. Also, among our goals are to support and conduct academic research and to coordinate informational programs to educate foundations, academic institutions, policy makers, government agencies and the general public. The goal is to achieve social and racial parity for the Afro Latino community and to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion by educating Afro Latinos about their human and civil rights through diverse strategies.
