This two day event will focus on the critical role aerial rescue plays in the life of an arborist. Day 1: Friday March 17 Instruction Day Kristian Michael Schultz, Gary Kohler and Chris Meeks teach and demonstrate various aspects of aerial rescue and safety/first aid. Day 1 is open to everyone. No ticket purchase required. Day 1 also includes gear check after the classes and a full aerial rescue demo. Expect some surprises! *********************************************** Day 2: Saturday March 18 Aerial Rescue in the Trees What: a full day of hands-on aerial rescue training. Each participant will have the opportunity to watch, assist and attempt a rescue in three different scenarios. One faster paced rescue will be a solo rescue, the technical will have ground help and the rigging rescue will be a team event. There will also be a team rigging challenge along with other fun opportunities. Each rescue ring will have a dedicated instructor from Friday to give tips and feedback for every participant both during and after the rescue. Come ready to learn! When: Friday, March 17: 9am-5pm Saturday, March 18: 8am-6pm Where: The home/property of Jesse Taylor. Jesse is graciously hosting at his personal residence and all participants, volunteers and spectators will treat it with respect or be asked to leave with no refund. *********************************************** Note: *PPE is required. You must wear a helmet and eye protection. Ear protection and chaps are not required. Must bring a hand saw. Hand saws must be taped or swapped out for a dummy blade. Bring all your typical climbing gear like your saddle and ascenders and positioning lanyard. *Porta potty will be on site *Gas stations , Walmart , shopping and food within 1 mile of the event. *Lunch will be provided on Friday and on Saturday for ticket holders and volunteers. You are on your own for breakfast and dinner. If you have dietary restrictions you should make your own plans for that just in case. Uber Eats, Grub Hub, etc will deliver if needed *out of town volunteers and participants may request camping or hammock spots on site.
