The Congolese Community of Washington Metropolitan (CCWM) will host this town hall meeting in collaboration with the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center and the Kin Foundation. This event will feature a presentation by USCIS representatives on the asylum backlog, the public charge rule, and the naturalization test. First, the representatives will discuss the actions that USCIS has taken to reduce the backlog of asylum applications and the results that stakeholders can expect from these efforts. Also, the representatives will talk about the key features of the new Public Charge Rule that went into effect on December 23, 2022. Finally, the representatives will discuss USCIS proposed changes to the naturalization test. P.S. we will take questions from the audience!
