Description

Learn how to mount a Platycerium bifurcatum (Staghorn Fern) on repurposed treated wood from Camp Small. Staghorn fern species are native to tropical forests in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Australia. They are epiphytic meaning they grow in grooves of trees. They are one of the most common plants found as mounted plants. Staghorn ferns need a medium to bright, indirect light and like supplemental humidity. We will be using treated wood that is able to sustain continual watering.  Each participant will receive a board prepped and ready for mounting your fern. Sorry, no discount for bringing in your own wood board. Participants will also receive 15% off plants during the workshop.  $55 ticket includes all materials. 6 people max.
