Lauren Dukes was born in Chicago, IL. Being from a city with a rich music history made an impact early on. Her parents cultivating the noticeable love of music sparked a desire to absorb everything from Tchaikovsky to Otis Redding. They placed her in music classes, encouraged her to audition for local plays, & allowed her to sing with numerous choirs so she could eventually realize her early childhood dream of being accepted into The Chicago Children's Choir. From there, the love for ALL genres was solidified.
Becoming a front woman to her own band during the mid 2000's, Lauren began writing songs that would later be released in a Self-titled EP in 2021 featuring artists like Andy Sutton (producer / drummer), Nic Byrd (guitar), Ola Timothy (bass), Shaun Martin (keys), Shawn Maxwell (sax), Marques Carroll & Kirk Garrison (trumpet). Lauren has been quoted in publications world wide as believing music is not only her career, but also her passion, therapy, & ministry. She continues to work as a full time musician,to this day, for notable Chicagoland bands such as Maggie Speak, Blue Water Kings, Hey Jimmy, Radio Gaga, Amsterdam Connexion, as well her very own Lauren Dukes Band.
