A Benefit for Hope In recent years, there have been multiple mental-health related tragedies of school-age children in Bedford County. These tragedies have left a profound impact on the lives of students, teachers, and their families. Considering these events, this year's Youth Leadership Bedford class haschosen to host a mental health awareness benefit and dinner at 4:30pm at Shelbyville Central High Schol on April 15, 2023, called A Benefit for Hope." Youth Leadership Bedford is a group comprised of high school seniors from Bedford County who are dedicated leaders in their respective schools. Their mission with this event is to remove the stigma surrounding mental health in Bedford County and bring awareness to the resources available for those who need help. The benefit will include dinner, music, speakers, and both a live and silent auction. All proceeds will be allocated toward scholarships for students who need counseling but are not in a financial position to afford it.
