This CLE focuses on the conflicts between federal and state laws and the disparate impact it has on Black and Brown communities. The conflicts between federal and state law are not new and it is without question many of you have been faced with conflicting federal and state laws in your area of expertise. Our nation is becoming more aware of the disparate impact these conflicts have on marginalized communities. For example, most notably the overturning of the landmark case, Roe v. Wade, and most recently the federal decriminalization of marijuana and reluctance of states to follow suit.
