Description
The AZTIFC seeks to build resilient faith-based organizations in order to facilitate sensitive care, training, resource sharing, advocacy, and social movement; Not compromising our own faith traditions, but multiplying collaboration for the greater good of Tucson and the surrounding area. These meetings are LIVE networking, training, and discussion meetings - we would love for you to join us! Typically we meet monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 11AM-1PM. The meetings will be hosted at Hope City Church and free lunch for those attending live is included and provided by Pantano Christian Church. (A monthly invitation will be posted). This month: CRM - The Community Resiliency ModelThe community resiliency model is focused on teaching people that human beings respond to stressful and traumatic experiences in a similar way, and also have the ability to bounce back to their best selves after difficult life experiences. This is called the Resiliency zone. CRM teaches a set of six wellness skills to help regulate your body to a natural state of well being after experiencing a distressful time. These skills are so simple that they can be taught across cultures to both children and adults. The model is based on leading neuroscience development about the autonomic nervous system and the ability to create new pathways in our brain. Presented by: Kelly Lilliard & Milissa Sanchez - Founders, Reaching Resiliency Reaching Resiliency was founded by Kelly Lillard and Milissa Sanchez. Kelly and Milissa both have 14 years of practicing social work in diverse settings which led to deepening their interest in the multi-generational impacts of both trauma and resiliency. Both have earned certifications from the Trauma Resource Institute as Community Resiliency Model Trainers. The vision of Reaching Resiliency is to train and create a community of Trauma-informed, Resiliency focused individuals and groups across Arizona to help rebuild and restore our communities. Kelly and Milissa believe that as a community we have a responsibility to help people who have experienced personal, cultural, and generational trauma heal and reach their resiliency. I hope that you will join us!
