Join Disabled Hikers for a wheelchair-accessible group hike at Tyron Creek State Natural Area! Located about 15 minutes from downtown Portland, Tryon Creek is Oregon's only state park within a major metropolitan area. Our group hikes are access-centered and collaborative, and we will customize the hike based on everyone’s needs. We welcome all people who are disabled, chronically ill, and/or neurodivergent, and your family, friends, and caregivers. It is required that you wear a mask. Where: Tyron Creek State Natural Area, approximately 7 miles south of downtown Portland on SW Terwilliger Blvd. Spoon Rating: 1 spoon. Wheelchair-accessible, paved path. There will be the option to extend the hike to natural surface loop. Distance: 0.3 mile (with option to extend an additional 0.5 mile); Max Grade: under 10%; Typical Surface: Paved (and firm, natural surface if extend) Amenities: There are accessible restrooms and water fountains at the visitor center. The park also has benches. Dogs: Service dogs are always welcome. Pets are discouraged for our event to reduce potential conflict and accessibility issues. Full details provided upon registration.
