Description

Taught by Priscilla Espinosa (she/her) who is a native ASL user, an amazing teacher, mother and aspiring Deaf Interpreter, Erin Griffin (she/her) who is a Nationally Certified ASL Interpreter (over 15 years), an ASL tutor, mother and a activist in our community and Roxanne Bowen (she/her) who comes from a Deaf family and is a native sign language user, a mom and a fantastic teacher. This is the first class in a series of classes we plan to offer where we will build on the skills we learn in each class. ASL 1 is a pre-requisite for taking any of our more advanced offerings. In this class we will focus on conversational ASL basics and be deep diving into Deaf Culture. The goal is to leave this class after 5 weeks in our classes feeling comfortable and able to have brief basic conversations with other ASL users or Deaf people. This class runs from 3/1/23 - 3/29/23. Attendance at all 5 sessions is the pre-requisite for taking the next level offered. If you have questions please reach out! Erin - E[email protected]
