What do our middle-school students do in math class every day? We will hear directly from middle-schoolers about the approaches used to solve math problems, and see examples of their solutions. Participants will also work collaboratively to solve problems that our middle schoolers are expected to solve, and middle school students will serve as your teacher/coach as you explore and discover solutions to these challenging problems. After solving their problem(s), participants will have the opportunity to present their solution to the class and receive valuable feedback. Note: free childcare will be available onsite. Professor(s) or Facilitator(s): White River Valley Middle School math teachers Andy West, Mindi Wimett, Alicia Hanford; and White River Valley Middle School students Andy West has been a middle school math teacher for nearly 30 years and now serves as Flexible Pathways Coordinator at WRVMS. Alicia Hanford and Mindi Wimett currently teach math at WRVMS. Session Type: Class Restrictions or Requirements:  Open to all parents and community members who want to learn about middle school math and see how middle schoolers spend their time in math class.Materials or Prep:  NoneAccessibility: The White River Valley School is ADA accessible.
