In homage to this tradition, Civil Conversations is a community event designed to help people engage in productive civic dialogue that pushes beyond party lines. ________________ The theme of our March event is "Church & State"Attendees will engage around prompts to explore how, if, and when one's personal beliefs may affect their political choices and preferences. ________________Civil Conversations are not about debate, but about understanding. The goal of this event is not to change others' views. The goal is to broaden your OWN perspective of the world by learning how others in your community see it.Prompts and dialogue structures will be thoughtfully facilitated to foster a deeper curiosity about—and understanding of—others' core sociopolitical experiences, concerns, hopes, and values. However, in the process, you may indeed find that minds are changed—perhaps even your own.
