SALEM, MA — A Wakefield man who flagged down a woman on Derby Street and asked her to call 911 because he had been stabbed was taken to a Boston Hospital for what were not believed to be life-threatening injuries Sunday night.
Salem police said about 7:30 they responded to Dow Street for a report of a group fighting. While there, officers received a call from the woman, who told them a man driving down Derby Street told her that he'd been stabbed and to call the police.
Police said the victim said he was stabbed multiple times during the fight.
Capt. Fred Ryan told Patch Monday afternoon that police were investigating and there is "no threat to the public."
