Come out to the Benson Theatre for a screening of the film Out of Omaha. Admission is free, but donations are strongly encouraged with all proceeds going to the Great Plains Black History Museum.
Directed by Clay Tweel, Out of Omaha follows twin black brothers as they come of age in racially divided Omaha, Nebraska and examines what it takes to overcome systemic injustice. Followed by the movie, there will be a panel discussion with prominent members of Omaha's Black community, including Executive Director of the Great Plains Black History Museum Eric Ewing and President and CEO of the Urban League of Nebraska Wayne Brown.
