There is nothing more satisfying than eating food from your own garden. We will cover topics such as: seeds vs. starts, soil fertility, transplanting seedlings, perennials, watering /irrigation, nontoxic pest control and great annual crops for your garden.
Emphasis on reuse materials will also be discussed.
This class is geared towards growing in containers. While the knowledge is transferable if you are planting in the ground, please leave space for people who have limited growing areas and are in need of these resources.
Participants will receive, a few small pots with plant starts and soil.
When you rsvp for this class you will receive an email form asking for more information on which types of plants you'd like to grow.
This program is generously funded through a partnership between Solano Public Health and Solano Gardens a program of Sustainable Solano.
Our vision is to empower communities with educational opportunities and resources to grow their own food. We aim to increase the health and wealth of our communities while healing the earth.
You can find more information on our website at SustainableSolano.org.
We'd also like to thank the Fairfield Cordelia Library and Staff for opening their doors and hosting this class.
