Restore nature where you live by joining the Intown Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society, in partnership with the Emory Ecological Society as we learn how to tackle invasive plants in Atlanta. Stay after the lecture (optional) and put your newfound knowledge to the test and volunteer with the Emory Ecological Society as they host an English ivy pull on campus!
The speaker of this event is Taryn Heidel, who has six years of experience with invasive species control. She was the Forest Restoration Manager for Trees Atlanta, and now works for the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation.
Refreshments will be available and all attendees can participate in a raffle for free native plant related surprises!
Parking is free at the visitor parking decks on the Emory Campus on weekends. Park in the Peavine visitor parking lot or the Oxford Road Building parking garage.
*A suggested donation of $10 helps Intown Atlanta GNPS continue to offer quality Intown Atlanta GNPS programs and activities. Any amount given is much appreciated.
