Kansas City has some troubled places that make some people pause in sad remembrance of the oppression that they represent. But most walk by every day, unnoticing. Led by members of groups whose families have felt the repercussions of being treated like "other," not worthy of holding public office, owning land or choosing how to express their culture (including choosing who and how to love.)
Many people have family members who walked famous and unknown trails (like the Trail of Tears, the Trail of Death, etc.) This is the people's chance to define their own trail for purposes of mending scars felt across generational boundaries into modern life. We're changing the narrative, bringing our own histories to be included, and expecting responsible peacemaking from all who profess they want to work with everyone to change the future.
Journey with us as we travel the trail for acknowledgement, for inclusion, for respect, for self-sovereignty and human rights. Invite Kansas City to move forward with everyone, with no group's best interest left in the void. Support this trail for building new relationships and better histories from now on.
