A key to success in applying for grants is pre-planning. This two-hour workshop will cover key points that organizations need to consider prior to applying for a grant. Topics will include the advantages to an organized and strategic approach to securing grant funds, key organizational information to collect and have on hand, and basic organizational questions to ask when considering applying for a grant.
This event is hosted by Share Health Southeast Georgia, and it will be held at Okefenokee RESA (1450 N Augusta Avenue in Waycross) on March 3 from 11 AM until 1:30 PM. Lunch will be provided for registrants.

The presenter for this event will be Barbara Bruno.
Barbara Bruno has over 40 years of grant writing experience. She worked as a Program Coordinator for the Georgia Department of Public Health for 15 years before she left government to become CEO of a nonprofit health and social service organization in Atlanta. She moved to Metter, Georgia, in 1999 where she continues to work as a nonprofit consultant, providing technical assistance, grant writing guidance, and program development directives for primarily health-focused nonprofits across Georgia. Since 2018, in addition to her work as a nonprofit consultant, she has served as the part-time Executive Director of Share Health Southeast Georgia, established in 2016 with a mission of improving the health of all generations in the 16 counties that the organization serves. She has a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Georgia State University and spent 15 years as a part-time/temporary full-time instructor of Anthropology at Armstrong State University in Savannah. Her professional areas of focus are access to care for the underserved, rural health, and refugee/migrant health.
