When children are placed in foster care/protective custody, a CASA volunteer may be appointed better to ensure their safety, well-being, and timely permanency. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused, neglected, and abandoned children in foster care. Unlike foster parents, CASA volunteers are not required to provide food, shelter, and clothing for children in foster care. CASA volunteers advocate for children in foster care to ensure their best interest is served.
