Alabama Appleseed presents a “Second Chance Double Feature” on Tuesday, March 7th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Sidewalk Cinema (1821 2nd Ave N). The evening will feature two documentaries profiling men who were sentenced to die in Alabama’s unconstitutional prisons and their stories of hope and a second chance at life. The films include “Love Without Parole” by Greg Womble and Elaine Witt highlighting the story of Appleseed client Michael Schumacher and his journey of love and redemption. And meet six of Appleseed’s clients in Michele Forman’s “188 Years: Life After Life Without Parole” who were sentenced to life without parole under Alabama’s “three strikes law” and the extraordinary story of their release. Join us to hear from the amazing filmmakers, meet Appleseed staff and clients, and learn how you can advocate for a better Alabama in the upcoming legislative session Free and open to the public.
