LFCAIRS (Lebanon Fire Community Assistance and Initial Relief Service) and the LFD Stairclimb Team have joined together to raise funds for the LFCAIRS Burn Out Fund and to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
About LFCAIRS:
LFCAIRS provides immediate financial support to residents with the District boundaries who experience a house fire. We provide cash assistance, as well as emergency temporary lodging (up to two nights at a local hotel) and other resources. We are also able to use funds to support our firefighters and their families in emergency situations, purchase bike helmets for LFD's free bike helmets for kids program, purchase life jackets for the kiosks and more.
About the Stairclimb Team:
The LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Firefighter Stairclimb is the world's largest on-air stair climb competition, and annual fundraiser held at the tallest building in downtown Seattle, the Columbia Center. All participants are career, volunteer, or retired firefighters who will climb up every stair in their full turnout gear (nearly 60 lbs!). Throughout this grueling course, we all remember that every step forward is representative of moving closer to a cure. The Lebanon Fire District is proud to have a team of seven who will be making the climb. This year, we are climbing for Gracelyn V., the daughter of a Lebanon local who is currently battling leukemia and just turned three.
About the Event:
The uber-talented folks at Makers Studio will be taking us step-by-step through the process of creating our own paintings inspired by Lebanon's Water Tower at Cheadle Lake! Light refreshments will be provided, and our silent auction items will be available for bidding. All items are locally-sourced or donated, and all proceeds will be split evenly between LFCAIRS and the Stairclimb Team fundraiser.
