How To Volunteer To Help North Shore Vaccine Distribution

PEABODY, MA — The Peabody Health Department is offering instructions for the many people who have reached out about volunteering at coronavirus vaccination sites in upcoming months. The Peabody Health Department said it is "grateful" for the support and expects to need both medical and non-medical volunteers for mass vaccination sites when more people are eligible for the shots. The health department said all volunteers will need to be enrolled as members of the Medical Reserves Corps — the national system for credentialling volunteers to assist in a public health emergency. Visit here to register to be a volunteer. Once enrolled, volunteers will receive information about training and emails about participating in clinics and other public health events. There is no obligation to participate in any event. Volunteers are also eligible to participate in events such as drive-thru flu shot clinics. Those with medical training can help administer with the shots, while non-medical volunteers can assist with logistics such as set up, registration and traffic management.
