Description
Colorado Native Plant Society Southeast Chapter President, Curtis Nimz would like to introduce you to some of the plants that call El Paso County, Colorado home. Come learn about native plants, shrubs, evergreen trees, and some of the more common grasses as well as a selection of wildflowers with a few from Pikes Peak. Although he does not consider himself a gardener you will greatly enjoy getting to know both Curtis and the native treasures we have here.
Curt Nimz is a hiker/photographer who became interested in wildflowers in 2014 and started taking photos of wildflowers on his hikes and trying to identify them. He was educated as a biologist/ecologist, but not as a botanist and had a 30-year professional career in information technology.
Curt’s presentation is an introduction to the common native plants that occur in El Paso County. Most of the photos are plants that you would see when hiking around the open spaces and parks in El Paso County should be easy to recognize
The Colorado Native Plant Society a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge, appreciation and conservation of native plants and habitats of Colorado through education, stewardship and advocacy.
